Extended Abstract
Join us for an exciting session where we’ll explore how AI is reshaping student engagement in higher education. Drawing on key findings from new research, conducted in collaboration with D2L, we’ll highlight how students are using generative AI tools, the challenges they face, and the opportunities AI offers. Together, we’ll examine practical strategies to help institutions address common obstacles—such as ethical concerns and over-reliance—while unlocking AI’s potential to enhance engagement across emotional, cognitive, and behavioral dimensions.
Participants will engage in small group activities to develop solutions for the AI-related challenges students encounter. We’ll collaborate on strategies to overcome these issues and explore how AI can be leveraged to boost student engagement. The session will culminate in a discussion where we share insights and identify actionable solutions that can be immediately applied to your own institutional context, empowering you to navigate the challenges and opportunities of AI with confidence.
