This session will explore ChatGPT integration in an online graduate public health course. I will explain the design of one written assignment and how students were instructed to prompt and critique ChatGPT. Participants will leave with a rubric, ChatGPT activity outline, and practical integration strategies.
EXTENDED ABSTRACT
This session will explore how one LLM (ChatGPT) was integrated into an online graduate course focused on complex issues relating to climate and human health. In this presentation, I will explain the design of one written assignment on toxic lead exposure. Students were instructed to prompt and critique ChatGPT. By comparing their own work with ChatGPT's output, students identified missing information and reflected on ChatGPT's limitations. Participants will leave with a rubric, ChatGPT activity outline, and integration strategies transferable to other disciplines.
