In the rapidly evolving landscape of digital higher education, student engagement has become critical. Advanced technology and the importance of having an effective online strategy create new opportunities, but maintaining high levels of motivation and focus remains a persistent challenge. 
 

This focus group brings together higher education instructional designers and educators to discuss the dichotomy between these trends in the context of digital learning. We will explore what student engagement means to them, how they intentionally design dynamic learning experiences to maintain motivation, and how they leverage peer support to navigate these challenges. We will also engage participants in a discussion about how technology can further improve student engagement, drawing from attendees' personal experiences to share best practices and brainstorm effective solutions for maximizing learner engagement. 
 

Additionally, we will introduce the work WeVideo does to support educators in creating interactive and engaging online learning video experiences and share how our platform addresses student engagement needs.
