With enrollment in on-campus courses continuing to decrease, institutions are rethinking the way they deliver courses and have increasingly embraced online learning, alongside hybrid and blended offerings, as a way to boost enrollment.
That’s right, when we surveyed more than 2,100 deans/department chairs, instructors, and students, we found that as demand for online science lab courses grows, the lines between online and on-campus remain blurred. With similar top challenges in both formats, we looked to how lab modality, engagement, and support could encourage greater student success. During our roundtable discussion, we’ll examine findings from our 2024 Annual Lab Report, diving deep into the instructor and student experience, while revealing effective strategies for overcoming common challenges and delivering rigorous, high quality lab experiences—no matter where your students are learning from.
When you leave this session, you’ll walk away with:
- A full copy of the report
- Strategies for how to supplement enrollment numbers in your STEM programs
- A better understanding of the 5 critical considerations that can significantly impact the success of your lab courses
- Peer-driven ideas for making online science more engaging and better preparing students with the knowledge & skills needed
- An expanded network of peers to share experiences and exchange best practices
Refreshments will be provided.
This focus group is open to all interested OLC Accelerate 2024 registered attendees.
