The OLC Online Student Support Scorecard was designed to facilitate the process of evaluating the support services at post-secondary institutions for those students taking most or all their courses online. The purpose of the scorecard is to provide a framework for an institution to evaluate whether the support services offered to online students are comparable to the services available to on-campus students. Institutions can use the results of the scorecard to identify the strengths and weaknesses of various services essential to the success of this subset of students. The scorecard has 51 quality indicators within 11 different categories. Each of the indicators is worth 2 points. The 11 different categories include: admissions, financial aid, pre-enrollment advising, veteran services, career counseling, orientation, post-enrollment services, library, students with disability services, technology support and graduate services. Each category includes a broad description of the activities expected to be performed to meet requirements. During this session, presenters will share their tips and lessons learned using the OLC Quality Scorecard for Online Student Support Services to conduct a comprehensive institutional review of online student support services. Join us for inspiration and ideas on for conducting your own internal review.
